Marc W. Smith
Elder

I have been on a journey to know and follow the real Jesus Christ for more than 22 years. My journey continues today for one simple reason: Apart of God, I've found no true rest, joy or meaning in life.
By the grace of God, I was raised in a Christian home and can testify to the truth of Proverbs 22:6: "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
In my late teens, I received the forgiveness of sin through Christ Jesus, but God's trans-formative and redemptive plan for my life is ongoing. As one of my friends likes to say, "It's a construction zone." Between my youth and sometime before I started losing hair, I searched alternative remedies to satisfy the longing's of my soul. Always returning like the prodigal son to my Father's loving arms.
I know what it is to be a restless soul, but I am also happy to share the Good News that Jesus tells us in Mathew 11:28-30 : "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Today, my wife Mariah and I are seeking God's wisdom as we raise our two children and seek to become more mature in our faith. We know that we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the prayer and support of a community of believers. We have found a family in Restoration Community Church and we look forward to growing and serving with you in this community.
I have been blessed with a number of people in my life who played significant roles teaching me, encouraging me, sharing spiritual disciplines with me, and praying for me as I've journeyed in my faith. I hope I can do the same for others as an Elder in Restoration Community Church.
